The South African Under 20 Women's National Team (Basetsana) will face Ghana in the first leg second round qualifiers of the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifiers. The match will be played on Saturday, 31 March 2012 at the Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton.The South Africans progressed to the second round of the qualifiers on a seven - two aggregate score to Botswana from the first round.
The Basetsana squad has been in camp since Monday 26 March 2012 and hold their morning training sessions at the Edenvale Sports Grounds, East of Johannesburg. In the afternoon they use the match venue.
Head coach of the Basetsana squad, Sheryl Botes is aware that the clash against Ghana is going to be tougher than Botswana, so it is essential that the team prepares adequately.
South Africa has a doubtful starter in the influential Robyn Moodaly who dislocated her arm in the return leg against Botswana played three weeks ago. She however took part in the practice match against Banyana Banyana.
The Ghanaian contingent enplane on Wednesday night en route to South Africa and with the Ghanaian U-17s qualifying for the 2012 Women's world cup to be held in Azerbaijan later this year,the Ghanaians are in high spirits with the aim of beating their South Africa counterparts in their own backyard so as to make the return leg a mere formality.
