NFF Appoints New Coach For Super Falcons

Kadiri Ikhana

The Nigerian Football Federation has finally cut ties with women's national team coach Eucharia Uche and have hence appointed former Kano Pillars and Kwara United coach Kadiri Ikhana as her replacement.Eucharia Uche's contract was not renewed after the 2011 FIFA women's world cup hosted by Germany.

Eucharia Uche won the 2010 African Women's Championship with the Super Falcons but failed to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.Born in 1951, Kadiri Ikhana, an ex international placed for the Super Eagles from 1978-1982 has over 20 years coaching experience but has no experience in women's soccer. With the lucklustre performace of the Super Falcons lately, the onus falls on Ikhana to lift the gloom off the Super Falcons as he steers them through the AWC qualifiers and beyond.
