The Super Falcons of Nigeria battled to a 1-1 draw against Austria in an entertaining world cup warm up game,played at the Leogang Stadium in Austria.The Austrians registered the 1st goal through Marlies Hanschitz on the 14th minute mark.The Nigerians fought gallantly but came up short with the half ending 0-1.
Sixty minutes into the second half,the Austrian defense succumbed to the incessant pressure mounted by the Falcons,which led to them cancelling out Austria's lead with a Josephine Chukwunonye goal. The game came to an end with the score at 1-1. Nigeria will take on Slovakia in Eugendorf to round up their Austria training tour before heading to Germany for their 1st match of the group stages against France in the world cup.
