The Heat is On- Deciding Weekend for AWC Final

The weekend promises of exciting games in the 2nd leg of the African Women Championship qualifiers, with Cameroon vs Ghana the most talked about.Who will watch from home and who will book a place in Equatorial Guinea/DR Congo ?
After a 1-1 drawn game against Cameroon in Accra, the Lionesses go into the weekend game with an urge over the desperate Ghanaians who may miss out on the women's fiesta for the first time, should they fail to beat the Lionesses of Cameroon.

Much is at stake here with Cameroon wanting to cement their place as a rising force in African women's soccer and Ghana eager to right the wrongs in previous shambolic outings.Who comes out  the victor is yet to be seen but Ghana will have to play above themselves to salvage what is left of their reputation as the second best in Africa. With Cameroon playing at home, Ghana faces an uphill task of getting a win in Yaounde, where the Lionesses are at their deadliest.

After putting up a less spirited performance in front of their home fans,Ghana's handlers will have to draw from the inspiration of their women's youth teams to snatch a win in order to qualify for the AWC final in Equatorial Guinea.

The Ivory Coast travel to Maputo to engage the Mozambicans and coach  Clementine Toure's 18 players called up have promised nothing but fireworks as they hope to make their debut at the AWC.With recent support coming from the Ivorian FA for the women's league, women's soccer in Ivory Coast has seen a spring in their step which has immensely impacted the national women's team.A win in Maputo is more than enough to secure them a place in Equatorial Guinea.

Below are the weekend match ups-
Nigeria vs Zimbabwe(*2-0),Cameroon vs Ghana (*1-1),Tanzania vs Ethiopia(*1-2),Mozambique vs Ivory Coast(*0-7),South Africa vs Zambia(*3-1), Senegal vs Morocco(*0-0) Equatorial Guinea and DR Congo qualify as hosts
