Recently, the coach of the above mentioned team was appointed as the new coach of the senior women's national team ,which seems like a natural progression hence the wholesale promotion of the youth team.In view of the up coming competition,27 players have been called up to commence preparation at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence on November 20th,2011.
The called up players are as follows:
Nana Ama Asantewaa (Police, Accra) Patricia Mantey (Immigration, Accra) Gladys Quansah (Ghatel Ladies, Koforidua) Leila Mohammed (Ashtown Ladies, Kumasi) Hillia Koblah (Faith Ladies, Accra) Edem Atovor (Ghatel Ladies, Cape Coast) Rosemary Ampem (Ashtown Ladies, Kumasi) Janet Agyir (Hasaacas Ladies, Takoradi) Cynthia Adobea (Reformers, Sunyani) Linda Addai (Intellectuals, Winneba) Sakina A. Will the sweeping changes in personnel transform the lackluster results chalked by the Black Queens in recent times, was the failures of the Black Queens due to technical bankruptcy or player incompetence ? these are a few of the questions on the minds of many fans of Ghana's senior women's team.
In comes a new coach with his tried and trusted army of youthful players, perhaps this is a sign of good things to come.
