Mozambique's Maria de Lurdes Mutola Set To Lead Her country to Victory at the COSAFA Cup and the AAG

Many may know her as the greatest female 800m runner of all time but Maria de Lurdes Mutola also packs a punch as a soccer player. In fact before she hauled in the medals from the Olympic games and other major world track and field meets,Maria Mutola was a soccer star and it only made sense that after her days in track field was over,she will return to her first love-soccer.

As Mozambique prepares to host the All Africa Games later in September,Maria Mutola(38) who plays for the Luso Africa women's soccer team in the Sasol league(South Africa) has earned a call-up among other players chosen from clubs in the provinces of Mozambique. A star player in her own right,Maria Mutola hopes to help her country win the 2011 COSAFA Women's Cup in Reunion and then the AAG in September before her home crowd.
