Malawi Names Squad For COSAFA Cup
26 players have been called up ahead of the 2011 COSAFA tournament to be hosted by Reunion Islands in July.The squad has 10 players coming from Malawian women's soccer giants DD Sunshine.

Goalkeepers: Logesi Zidana, Alice Msiska, Thoko Mwase, Ndaziona Nasimba

Defenders : Thandi Kasiya, Violet Chihana, Yanjanani Pinandi, Melina Mkandawire, Chisomo Kazisonga, Charity Patulani, Tisadane Bokosi, Liana James

Midfielders: Latipher Malunjika, Bridget Nkuzilire, Dyce Lingo Phiri, Lina Chipili, Sungeni Msiska, Pilirani Malola, Ruth Tambala, Alinafe Naboti, Brenda Shawa

Strikers: Linda Kasenda, Tabitha Chawinga, Love Nyakamera, Eliza Mtambo, Chipi Ngwira.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) acting chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said FAM is satisfied the women’s game has greatly improved to the extent that they are now ready to play on the international scene.

Super Falcons Lock Horns With Austria In World Cup Warm Up

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will engage the Austrian WNT today at the Leogang stadium as part of their preparation towards the world cup. Austrian elite division side Wacker Innsbruck fell to the Super Falcons by 7-0 in a similar exercise on May the 29th.

The exercise will enable Eucharia Uche prune down her  team to the final 21 players required for the world cup.The final list is to be submitted by Friday.Nigeria has won all their tune up matches so far.
