As part of their preparation towards the 2015 FIFA women's world cup, Cameroon locked horns with their Ivorian counterparts in a grueling match up,which ended in a 2-3 win for the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon. The game was played at the Robert Champroux stadium on May 10,2015.
The Lady Elephants kicked of strongly with some crisp passes but could not contain the Lionesses who showed their intent on the 14th minute mark with a goal scored by Akaba Edoa. Nguessan Koko cancelled out the score line when she zipped through the tight defensive barrier of the Lionesses to score in the 38th minute.
The game became a ding-dong affair with crunching tackles when on the 45th minute mark,Leuko Chiboso restored the Lionesses' lead with a beautiful goal on the break. The Elephants stomped their way through the fierce midfield of the Lionesses to equalize on the 70th minute mark through the efforts of Essoh Nadege, but the Lionesses secured a win on the day when Christine Manie sealed the fate the Elephants with a classy finish on the 80th minute giving the Lionesses a well deserved win.
The game served as a good test for both sides who showed their preparedness for the task ahead in Canada.
