AAG Women's Soccer News-Ghana 2-1Tanzania,Cameroon 1-0 Mozambique


Ghana’s Black Princesses got their All Africa Games campaign off to a winning start, beating Tanzania 2-1 on Monday.


Coach Kuuku Dadzie's U-20 side secured the Group B in Machava through goals from Portia Boakye and Elizabeth Cudjoe.


The Black Princesses will head into the next game against Zimbabwe on Thursday very confident as they aim to advance from the group stage.


Cameroon's WNT dented the hopes of the host nation in their opener by beating them by 1 goal to nil.The sparse crowd at the Newly built National Stadium in Maputo Were treated to a fine defensive performance from the home team but were later subdued by the more fancied Cameroonians.


The star of the Mozambican side,Maria Mutola came close to scoring when she beat the iron clad Cameroonian defense,rounded off the on rushing goalkeeper only to see her shotcleared off the line.


Pressure from Cameroon saw the home team buckle when the only goal of the game was scored by Cameroon's Zouga in the 20th minute of the first half. Cameroon failed to capitalize on the sending off of Mozambique's Banze in the 67th minute when she violently fouled Meffometou of Cameroon.


With Guinea having withdrawn from the competition, Mozambique Will Be confident of beating Algeria in Their final group game next weekend and Securing a place in the quarterfinals.
