COSAFA Women's Championship News-Namibia Pulls Out of CWC

As part of their preparation towards the COSAFA championship to be held in Zimbabwe,Mozambique engaged Swaziland in an entertaining game which saw Maria Mutola at the helm of affairs,power her team to a 1-0 win.
Coach Manuel Costa expressed satisfaction about the out put of the team and hoped for a stellar performance in Zimbabwe.
Players featured against Swaziland are as follows; Celeste,Amélia Jorge, Célia, Meque Aurora; Aissa, Inês, Amélia Banze,Augusta, Mutola and Sarita Jacob.
The team will travel to Zimbabwe on Friday  ahead of the COSAFA women's championship which kicks-off in July.

NAMIBIA


Namibia's Brave Gladiators will not participate at the COSAFA Women Championship slated for Zimbabwe next month as the team is in Germany for training camp.

The relatively young team in Germany is aimed at exposing these youngsters and start developing them early and not only during qualifiers.

The NFA now focuses on the Zone-Six Games in December as well as the upcoming Africa under-20 Women qualifiers.

The NFA also consider arranging another International Friendly later in the year, with the German Student National Team possible opponents in September for the ladies team.

Meanwhile, the Namibia women team in Germany on Saturday beat SV Germania Hauenhorst 3-0 with Zenatha Coleman, Lena Soreses and Juliana Skrywer on target.

This follows in wake of their last week’s victory over SC Preussen Borghorst 6-0, with Stacey Naris scored twice with Albertha Dawes, Zenatha Coleman, Emmerencia Fredericks and Juliana Skrywer scoring one goal each.
