The Lady Elephants of Ivory Coast Ready For AWC 2012

The women's national team of the Ivory Coast  played their last  preparation game towards the African Women's Championship in Equatorial Guinea this Saturday, at the stadium of the Academy Ivoire on the outskirts of Abidjan. The beat Espanyol Academy Grand Lahou (1-0) and Marwan FC (3-0), the elephants demonstrated physical fitness and effectiveness.

 The Women's CAN 2012 begins on October 28 in Equatorial Guinea. The elephants participating for the first time in the finals of this competition where they will play their first game on Monday, October 29 against Ethiopia.

After two friendly matches won against the Lionesses of Senegal (6-0 and 2-1), the elephants were still demonstrated attractive football  against Ivoire Academy.They showed up in the most beautiful way by beating Espanyol Academy (1-0) and Marwan FC (3-0). Against Espanyol Academy in the first half, the elephants were very enterprising. Their commitment  earned the only goal scored by Rachelle Bankouly.




In the second game played against FC Marwan came Marcory, Captain Jeanne Gnago and her team mates who dmoinated proceedings against a team predominantly made up of players of Lebanese nationality (3-0).The Elephants depart to Bata in Equatorial Guinea ion October 25. The coach of the elephants will host a press conference on October 23 at the IFF.At  CAN 2012, Cote d'Ivoire share Group B with Nigeria, Cameroon and Ethiopia.Ives TIEMELE
