Ghana and Nigeria Qualify for Japan 2012 FIFA Women's World Cup

After a preliminary round and three qualifying rounds held between October 2011 and May 2012, Ghana and Nigeria  have qualified to represent CAF at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

Ghana beat Tunisia on a 7-2 goal aggregate whiles Nigeria secured their place at the final when they beat DR Congo's Lionesses on a 7-0 goal aggregate.Both  nation's emulated their U-17 counterparts who booked their places at the 2012 U17 women's world cup to be held in Azerbaijan.

The stage is now set for the U20 FIFA world cup,Japan 2012 with the top four AFC slots  filled by Japan(host nation), Korea DPR, China PR and Korea Republic.

UEFA's top 4 representitives are  Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland. Representing CONCACAF are  top 3  nations, Canada,USA and Mexico. CONMEBOL  representatives are Brazil and Argentina and representing the OFC-New Zealand.  The competition kicks off  on August 19th and ends on September 8th,2012.
