Perpetua Nkwocha goes is as the reigning CAF Female Best Player however, the omission of Genoveva Anonma has left many scratching their heads. One is left to wonder what the criteria for making the shortlist is.Anoma dazzled at the 2011 Women's world cup where she left an indelible mark on women's soccer fans who watched her play.
If CAF's technical and media committee took into consideration the performance of the nominees from January to November before deciding on who made the cut, then it leaving out such a stalwart in the African women's game needs much to be desired.
Countries vying for the National Women's Team of The Year are- Nigeria, South Africa and Cameroon.
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held in Accra,Ghana on the 22nd of December,2011
