AAG News-Cameroon Stun South Africa in 2-0 win

Cameroon are through to the finals of the on going All Africa Games in Maputo after taming a much fancied South Africa in a highly technical game this afternoon with a 2-0 win.
South Africa drew against Ghana in the last game of the group stages and bustling with confidence, they never saw a defeat to Cameroon in their future.

The game kicked off with South Africa being the most aggressive of the two sides and showing a lot of promise but the robust Cameroonians will allow the South Africans no room to operate. The Lionesses of Cameroon soaked up the incessant pressure mounted by the South Africans and saw a 37th minute strike by Gabrielle Aboudi paid off, putting the Cameroonians in the lead.

A stunned South Africa continued to press for parity but fell short when Andisiwe Mgcoyi's shot from 20 yards narrowly missed the mark.Coming back from the break, a resolute  Cameroonian defense stretched every sinew to prevent the marauding South African attacking line speared headed by Mgcoyi from equalizing.

63 minutes of play later,Cameroon put the nail in South Africa's coffin  when they caught the South Africans on a counter attack with a second goal which silenced the noisy fans of the South African team. The Lionesses entertained the crowd by playing a possessive game to frustrate the South Africans who came out empty handed although touted as favorites.

With Ghana set to play Algeria tomorrow in the second semi final match, pundits have a Ghana vs Cameroon final on the cards with the odds favoring the Ghanaians.
