Domestic players of the Super Falcons have been issued with Wednesday, August 03 deadline to report to the team’s camp in Abuja.Falcons opened camp on Monday preparatory for its crucial London 2012 Olympic Games qualifier against perennial arch-rivals, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on August 28 in Abuja.
According to the team’s media officer Gracious Akujobi,the team’s handler, Uche Eucharia took the decision to underscore the importance of the game to the players.
“Coach Uche Eucharia gave the local players Wednesday latest to report to camp or forget it." Uche drummed it into the ears of the players to see their invitation to camp as privilege and not a right.”
Meanwhile their Europe based counterparts have up to August 18 to report to camp.
19 out of 26 domestic players in camp are captain Precious Dede, Ebere Orji, Francesca Ordega, Josephine Chukwunonye, Glory Iroka, Amenze Aighewi, Rebeca Kalu, Blessing Edoho, Asisat Osoala and Vera Okolo.
Others include Joy Jegede, Ebubeleye White, Chima Nwosu, Gloria Ofoegbu, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Nkiruka Ozoemena, Lucky Andy, Evelyn Nwabuoku and Josephine Mathias.
The six expected foreign based players are reigning African footballer of the year Perpetua Nkwocha, Emueje Ogbigbevba, Rita Chikwelu, Onome Ebi, Helen Ukaonu and Faith Ikidi.
