Algeria Defeated In Triangular Tournament In France

The Algerian national women's soccer team as part of ther preparations towards the All Africa Games took part in a triangular soccer competition in Monteux,on the South of France.

The tournament saw the current European women's champions Olympique Lyonnais and FCF Monteux vying for top honors.The Algerians went down by 5-0 against Olympique Lyonnais with  two goals coming from French international Eugenie Le Sommer in their first game.

In the second game against FCF Monteux, the Algerians showed much omprovement but suuffered a 1-0 loss. Olympique Lyonnais however went on to win the tournament with two wins.

The coach of the Algerian team was optimistic about the teams chances at the forth coming All Africa Games and counted on the response of his team and the experience gathered at  the tournament to see them through at the AAG. Algeria will play against Guinea,Cameroon and host nation Mozambique in Group A at the All Africa Games scheduled to kick off in September.
