- The national women select team returned home from their Germany-tour with an impressive record of four wins and two defeats.
The Namibian team consisted of a mixture of U17 players (seven), U20 player (seven) and senior players (six).
Namibia Football Association (NFA) technical director Klaus Staerk coached the team in the absence of head coach Jacqueline Shipanga who is part of the ongoing 2011 FIFA Women World Cup in Germany.
They recorded their final victory against Bocholt on Saturday, a club where tour top goalscorer Zenatha Coleman together with captain Stacey Naris will be heading for trials in August.
The tour was used to expose the majority of the U20 players to competitive football and thus prepare them adequately for the 2012 Zone VI Games in Zambia.
Coleman scored a total of seven goals for the team that arrived back home on Sunday and will now take a much needed one week break.
“The girls will now for the first time this year go on a break of one week before the NFA Women Super League kick off on the 30th of July 2011,” Jackey Gertze from the NFA Wome’s Desk said.
