2011 COSAFA Women's Championship- South Africa and Zimbabwe Cruise To Final

South Africa's Banyana Banyana has qualified for the final of the 2011 Confederation of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Women’s Championships.
Team captain Amanda Dlamini scored a goal in each half to assist her side to a 5-1 victory over Malawi. The final will be played on Saturday, 9 July 2011.

Playing in chilly conditions on an artificial pitch at the Rufaro stadium in Harare, Zimbabwe on Thursday, 7 July 2011, the Malawians shocked the pre-match favourites by taking the lead in the 17th minute through Chawinga Tabitha after a rare piece of poor defending in the heart of the Banyana Banyana rearguard.

In the other semi-final match,Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors sailed through to the final of the Cosafa Women's championships after beating Tanzania 4-2 on post match penalties on Thursday at Rufaro Stadium.
The hero of the day was Aces Youth Academy goalkeeper Onai Chingawo who saved three penalties, one in regulation time and two others in the much feared penalty shootouts.

The two teams were deadlocked at goalless at the end of normal time after the Twiga Stars had threatened to upset the Zimbabweans with a polished performance. The final promises to be a David and Goliath  affair come Saturday when defending champions,South Africa lock horns with Zimbabwe.
