The Super Falcons of Nigeria are full steam ahead in preparations towards the world cup as they defeated the Czech Republic,who are ranked 27th in the world by 1-0 in a fiercely contested game,played in Kossen,Austria.
The game lived up to its billing as a tough encounter with the Czech team bombarding the Nigerians with a barage of shots but the Nigerians weathered the storm till the end of the first half without conceding a goal.
Five minutes into the commencement of the seconf half, Nigeria's Glory Iroka pulled a stunner when she slotted home a beautiful shot to put her side ahead by 1-0.The Super Falcons thereafter settled down to dictate the tempo of the game and were able to tame the Czech Republic's attacking line.
They held on to their solitary goal until the final blast of the whistling signaling the end of proceedings.Nigeria takes on the Austiran national team on wednesday,June 8th in Leogang.They round off their Austrian training tour with a game against Slovakia in Eugendorf on the 18th of June before heading off to Germany for the world cup.
