News From The African Women's Soccer World

The Super Falcons of Nigeria  caught a Windhoek bound flight on wedenesday night ahead of their 2nd leg Olympic qualifier against Namibia's Brave Gladiators to be played on Saturday at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek,Namibia.The Falcons who sit comfortably on a 7-0 lead are led by  coach Eucharia Uche.



Marcello Frigerio and the Nzalang Femenino


The popularity and expectations of the Equatorial Guinea women's soccer team is very high.This led the  Equatorial Guinea Football Federation to engage the services of a Brazillian coach in the person of Marcello Frigerio for the Nzalag Femenino,the national women's soccer team. Marcello Frigerio signed a 5 month contract with a renewal clause which will see him through the Olympic qualifiers and the world cup in Germany.Frigerio has coached teams in Italy and was the coach of Palmeiras in 2010. He also won the world university games held in China  with the Brazilian team in 2001.

Florence Adhiambo
Kenyan international, Florence Adhiambo has been invited to participate in a coaching course in Germany under the auspices of the German football federation, DFB.Florence holds a CAF instructor diploma ,UEFA C certificate and would be working towards her UEFA B certificate.



Ethiopia's Zeytuna Yasin
The coach of the Black Queens of Ghana has beefed up his squad with the inclusion of 3 players from the U-20's. Coach Edusei highlighted the preparedness of his team and called on all Ghanaians to lend their support as they engage the Ethiopians at the El Wak Stadium in Accra on saturday.The Ethiopian national team arrived in Accra on wedenesday ready to defend their lone goal triumph over the Ghanaians a fortnight ago in Addis Ababa.Star player Zeytuna Yasin however assured their supporters of a good game come saturday.

The Zambian Football Association says it will invest in women's soccer although their women's national team was booted out of the Olympic games  and the All Africa games qualifiers,they showed a lot of potential,prompting the Zambian FA to embark on establishing a women's  league and academies  in Zambia.

FC Indiana of the Women's League Soccer, has announced the signing of  five African players for the 2011/2012  WLS season- Elizabeth Cudjoe,Adjoa Bayor, and Olivia Donkor all from Ghana and South African Jermaine Seoposenwe and Ebere Orji of Nigeria.
